Fixtures

Setting up the lighting fixtures in your room.

Fixtures

A fixture in CueProX is a lighting unit you've named and registered for the room — a moving head, a PAR, a wash, a strobe, whatever your rig contains. Once set up, each fixture can be controlled per cue: turned on or off, given a specific color.

Where to manage: room config sidebar → Fixtures tab.

Note

This is where you define which fixtures exist in your room — not their cue-by-cue behavior. What each fixture does during a specific cue is set in the cue form's Fixture settings section, covered in Color presets.

Adding a fixture

Click + Add fixture to expand the add form. Choose a type first, then name the fixture.

Fixture types

The type grid shows 12 built-in categories. Pick the closest match to the physical unit:

Type What it represents
Moving Head Pan/tilt moving fixture
PAR Fixed wash PAR can or similar
Bar LED bar or strip
Blinder Audience-facing blinder unit
Strobe Strobe or flash unit
Wash Flood or area wash fixture
Spot Hard-edge profile or ellipsoidal
Beam Beam fixture or sharpy-style
Fresnel Fresnel soft-edge fixture
LED Panel Flat LED panel or matrix
Smoke Smoke or fog machine
Haze Haze machine

Select None if nothing fits — the fixture will use a generic icon.

Name

Name the fixture something your lighting operator will recognize at a glance — "FOH Left", "Stage Wash 1", "Hazer", "Altar Spot". Names show up in the cue form and on the Lights output, so clarity matters more than brevity.

Click Add to save. The fixture appears in the list immediately.

Editing a fixture

Click the icon button on the left side of a fixture row to open the inline edit form. The form shows both the name field and the type picker at the same time — update either or both, then click Save. Click Cancel to discard changes.

Reordering fixtures

Each fixture row has up and down arrow buttons to the left of the icon. Click them to move the fixture one position at a time. The order here is the order fixtures appear on the Lights output during a show — arrange them to match how your lighting operator thinks about the rig.

Removing a fixture

Click the trash icon on a fixture row. A confirmation prompt appears:

"Remove {fixture name}? This will also clear any per-cue settings for this fixture."

Confirm with Remove to delete it. The fixture is removed from the room and all per-cue color and enabled/disabled settings tied to it are cleared. This can't be undone.

Permissions

Owner, Director, Associate Director, and the Lights team lead can manage the Fixtures tab. Other roles don't see it.

Plan limits

Each plan has a maximum fixture count. If you reach the limit, the + Add fixture button returns an error prompting you to upgrade.
