Creating a show

Shows are added to a selected event from within the director view. You need an event selected before you can add a show to it.

Where to start

Open the director view and make sure an event is selected in the event action bar. Click + Add show. This opens the New show modal.

What you configure

Show name

Required. The name appears in the cue list as the show's header row, in the director top bar while the show is running, and in session records. Use something that clearly identifies the segment — "Worship", "Act 2", "Panel Q&A", "Evening Set". The name can't be changed after creation.

Start from template

If your room has saved templates, a Start from template dropdown appears. Select one to pre-fill the new show with all the cues from that template — titles, types, timers, and team notes all carry over and can be edited. Leave this blank to start with an empty show.

Q&A show

A toggle. When enabled, Q&A mode opens automatically when this show starts and closes automatically when the show ends. Use it for segments where audience questions are part of the format — a panel, a sermon response slot, a live interview. The Q&A team's moderation queue activates at show start and clears when the show ends.

Position

New shows are appended to the end of the event's show list. The first show you add is position 1, the second is position 2, and so on. Shows display in this order in the cue list and run in this sequence during the event.

There's no drag-to-reorder for shows. If you need to change the order after creation, the workaround is to duplicate a show into the position you want and delete the original. See Duplicating and deleting shows.

After you create

The show appears immediately in the cue list beneath the event. It starts empty — add cues straight away from the + Add cue button under the show header, or from the event-level + Add cue button with the show selected.

You don't need the event to be active to add or edit cues in a show. All prep work can happen while the event is idle.

Note

Shows can't be renamed after creation. If you made a naming error or want to change it, duplicate the show, give the duplicate the name you want, then delete the original. All cues carry over with the duplicate.
