Entering director view

How to access director view and what each role can do once inside.

Entering director view

Where to find it

On the room config page, the top-right corner has a button that takes you into the live view for that room. The label on that button depends on your role:

"Enter director view" — Owner, Director, and Associate Director. You get the full set of controls: event management, show sessions, cue advancement, alerts, messages, and all editing tools.

"Enter crew view" — Crew Member, Q&A Moderator, and Team Lead. You see the panels relevant to your team and role. Most editing controls are hidden. Q&A Moderators see the Q&A panel; Crew Members and Team Leads see the message feed and output links for their teams.

"Enter observer view" — Observer. Read-only. You can follow along, see the cue list, and watch the timeline, but no controls are available.

All three labels link to the same URL. The view itself adapts based on your role — it's not a different page, just a different set of visible controls.

Multiple users at once

Any number of users can be in director view simultaneously. There is no single-controller lock — if two people have director access, both see the same controls and both can act on them.

Note

Two directors clicking "Next cue" in rapid succession can produce surprising results — the show advances twice. In practice, agree on one person at the controls during a live show. Others can watch and assist, but one pair of hands on the advancement buttons avoids confusion.

Leaving director view

Click ← Dashboard at the top of the left sidebar. This takes you back to the main dashboard. There's no "Exit" button or confirmation — navigation away is the exit.

What crew and observer roles see

Crew Members and Observers can enter director view but most of the top-bar session controls, the cue editing icons, and the event action bar are hidden or disabled. They can see the cue list (for context), use the Messages panel to follow the crew feed, and open output links from the Outputs panel. The view is useful for following along during a show without being able to interfere with it.
